NWS Issues Winter Weather Advisory
The National Weather Service in northern Indiana has issued a winter weather advisory for snow and blowing snow for Kosciusko County to be in effect from 7 a.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday.
According to the NWS, 1-4 inches of lake effect snow accumulation will occur mostly Saturday afternoon into Saturday night. While only light to moderate snow is forecasted, northwest winds gusting as high as 35 to 40 mph will result in significant blowing and drifting snow with reduced visibility.
Bitter cold is expected with wind chills dropping into the 10 below to 20 below range Saturday night. Visibility will be significantly reduced due to the combination of snow and blowing snow. The NWS notes drifting snow will result in hazardous travel conditions.
