Cougars Drop Foul-Filled Contest

WINONA LAKE – It turned into a free throw shooting contest Thursday night at Lakeland Christian Academy.

The host Cougars dropped an 81-67 final to South Bend Career Academy in boys basketball action.

The two teams combined to shoot 62 free throws in the contest with LCA attempting 40 of those.

Jon Harmon netted 23 points to lead the way for LCA.

Conner Blum scored 20  points and Josh McDaniel 14 for the Cougars.

Denzell Dixon scored 33 points to pace the winners. Dixon also hit five of his team’s 10 treys in the victory.

LCA drops to 0-19 on the season. South Bend Career Academy is now 3-15.

The Cougars play host to South Bend Community Baptist on Tuesday night.
