WARSAW – The Washington basketball teams had a big night Monday.

Both teams from the school claimed championships in the Warsaw Community Schools Elementary Tournaments. The title games were contested in the Tiger Den at WCHS.

The Washington girls team defeated Lincoln 26-21 in the title contest.

The girls’ championship team included  Macy Bonifield, Natasha Northern, Lindsey Bradley, Kendra Love, Brooklyn Fitzgerald, Faith Delp, Kassidy Dees, Eryn Watmough and Jaslyn Brock. Also on the team were Cora Ransbottom, Hannah Hatfield, Kate Deloe, Kensington Ryman, Avery Fitzgerald, Rachel Roberts, Mackenzie Kohler and Arianna Seymour.  Abi Campbell was the student manager for the champions.

Coaches for the girls’ squad were Nicole Ryman, Tammi Wagoner, Matt Dick and Courtney Thrasher.

Cheerleaders for the team were Jordan Truex, Hannah Hutton, Alexis Hall, Bianca Breading, Rachel Easterling, Jordan Love, Allison Zartman, Elizabeth Lopez, Lori Davila, Emilee Schmucker, Grace Bishop, Hillary Haywood, Dania Presteguin, Marissa McLean and Anna Zartman.

The Washington boys team edged Madison 34-32 in the title game.

Members of the boys’ team included Cameron Manuel, Ben Brander, Cole Ryser, Drew Heckaman, Theodore Katris, Parker Bonifield, Nicholas Katris, Tyreese Phillips, Austin Slone, Caden Graham, Mason Martz, Jackson Dawson, Jeremy Ryman, Michael Ray, Peyton Puckett, Zach Wood, Isaac Roberts, Zach Hall and Peyton Brooks. Student managers were Cole Ryser, Ben Brander and Peyton Brooks.

Coaches for the championship team were Keith Manuel, Mark Bonifield,  Kevin Roberts, Joe Graham and Tammi Wagoner.

Cheerleaders for the team were Arianna Seymour, Hannah Hutton, Elizabeth Lopez, Emilee Schmucker, Hillary Haywood, Alexis Hall, Bianca Breading, Anna Zartman, Lori Davila, Allison Zartman, Rachel Easterling, Dania Presteguin, Jordyn Truex, Grace Bishop, Marissa McLean.
