LaVille Rallies To Edge Triton

Triton Sports LogoLAKEVILLE – A big fourth quarter effort earned host LaVille a key win over Triton Saturday night.

The Lancers outscored the Trojans 18-11 in the final frame to post a 44-43 win in Northern State Conference play.

Triton, which had lost 54-49 to LaVille in the Bi-County Tournament last month, led 32-26 entering the fourth quarter.

The game was tied at 13-13 after the opening period of play. LaVille led 19-18 at halftime of the league contest.

Joey Corder had 10 points and six rebounds for the Trojans.

Masen Yeo and Grant Johnson each also had 10 points for Triton. Jordan Anderson added eight points.

Blake Berger came up huge with 25 points for the host Lancers.

Triton had 15 turnovers in the game, while LaVille had nine.

The Trojans, who saw their three-game winning streak snapped, fall to 10-7 overall and 4-1 in the NSC. LaVille, which has won eight in a row, improves to 15-3 overall and 4-1 in league play.

Triton won the junior varsity game 46-20. Dalton Bailey had 14 points and Jarrett Kreft 10 to lead Triton to the win.

Triton hosts Bremen and LaVille plays at New Prairie in NSC games on Thursday night.
