CULVER – The Tippecanoe Valley girls basketball team tuned up for sectional play with a win Thursday night.
Valley standout Anne Secrest got ready for postseason play with some kind of stat stuffer effort in the victory.
Secrest did it all as the Vikings wrapped up regular-season action with a 50-42 win over Culver Academies.
Sophomore star Secrest had 18 points and 16 rebounds as Valley improved to 19-2. She also had four assists, seven steals and three blocked shots.
Meredith Brouyette netted 11 points for the Vikings. Caylie Teel had eight points and Brynda Krueger six.
Culver led 16-11 after the first quarter before Valley took a 28-26 halftime lead. The Vikings led 40-37 after three quarters before outscoring the hosts 10-5 in the fourth period of play.
Valley ended its season with six straight wins. Culver Academies now stands at 7-14.
The Vikings will play Fairfield Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the opening game of the Class 3-A Wawasee Sectional.
