WABASH – Host Wabash used a big third quarter effort to top Whitko 61-49 Friday night.

The Apaches outscored the Wildcats 15-4 in the pivotal period en route to claiming the Three Rivers Conference win.

Whitko led 32-29 at halftime before being outscored by 11 in the third stanza.

Nate Walpole canned 24 points to lead the way for Whitko. River West added 13 points for the Wildcats.

Wabash improves to 4-11 overall and 3-2 in the TRC. Whitko drops to 4-12 overall and 0-5 in league play.

whitko plays at Southern Wells Tuesday night.  Wabash plays at Tippecanoe Valley in another TRC game next Friday night.
