Football, Football, Football!

Touchdown! And the crowd goes wild! Many houses will be filled with cheers and jeers from football fans at your Super Bowl Party. Feb. 1 is approaching fast. Are you ready?

Milford Public Library has books and magazines to help you plan one great Super Bowl Party. Come in and check out the cookbooks -“Taste of Home Appetizers;” “A Football Cookbook: Simple Recipes for Kids” by Sarah Schuette and “Great Party Dips” by Peggy Fallon. Look through magazines like “Taste of Home,” “Simple and Delicious,” “Sports Illustrated,” “Sports Illustrated for Kids,” “Woman’s Day,” “Family Circle” and more. Make this year’s Super Bowl party one to remember! Happy Football!

After School is Cool

Come to After School is Cool at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, for a story and craft with Miss Shari. Miss Shari will read the book “There was a Cold Lady who Swallowed Some Snow” by Lucille Colander. After listening to the story, join Miss Shari and make a craft that goes along with the book.

Remember that each After School is Cool you attend earns you ten points. When you have forty points, you can choose a paperback book to add to your home library. See you on Tuesday, Jan. 27 for a story and craft.

Hot Chocolate Fridays

Every Friday is “Hot Chocolate Friday!!” Adults are invited to have a delicious hot chocolate drink and sit and visit with other patrons in the upstairs area of the library. If you would like a hot chocolate, just ask the clerk at the adult circulation desk. Sip some hot chocolate and browse the stacks or relax with a good book. Warm up your winter at the library!

Music at your Fingertips

One of the many free services offered by the library is Freegal. Freegal is a service that gives patrons access to music and music video downloads weekly. What exactly is Freegal? Do you use itunes? Freegal is very similar, but the library has paid for the song or videos that you download. There are thousands to choose from.

You can browse through all the artists or look for a specific song. If you have a Milford library card and Internet access, then you can use Freegal! The patrons who already receive their weekly downloads highly recommend using this free service. Stop by and pick up a brochure or call us for more information! Keep downloading those three free songs every week!

Dial-A-Story for Children

Children love to use Dial-A-Story. By calling (574) 658-9540, children can listen to a story over the phone. The story is changed weekly, so there is always something new to listen to! Help your child dial today!
