SmartAsset’s 2014 list of the top 10 counties in the United States to get a mortgage loan lists five counties right here here in northern Indiana.

The number one county was Wabash County with a loan funding rate of 68.08 percent. Kosciusko was third at 67.29 percent, Jasper was fifth (63.79 percent), Montgomery was eighth (64.33 percent) and DeKalb was ninth on the list (66.6 percent).

The other states represented on the list were Colorado, North Carolina, Missouri, Oklahoma and Alabama. No other state made the list more than once.
