Wawasee’s Reagan Atwood scored an 8.65 to lead all vaulters and added a 7.8 on bars, 7.95 on beam and 7.95 on floor to compile a 32.35 all-around tally. Taylor Busse was fourth on bars at 8.05 for Wawasee’s only other top-five figure against Carroll.

Haleigh Smarr posted a 7.4 on vault and Leigh-Ann Shrack had a 7.25 on floor to highlight Wawasee’s 65.8-57.725 junior varsity count against the Chargers.

“Carroll is always a really tough team,” stated Wawasee assistant coach Sarah Wegener. “We know that we always have to perform well when facing them. Some of the scores weren’t where we need them to be, but some great things happened today.”

Wawasee, now 1-1 on the season in two road contests, will host West Noble in its home opener Tuesday night.
