Marjorie C. RoederMarjorie C. Roeder, 91, of Bremen, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Wakarusa.

She was born on April 4, 1923, in Bremen, to Charles R. and Ruby D. (Kimble) Guard. Marjorie married Lloyd D. Roeder in 1941; he passed away in 1989. In addition to raising her family, Marjorie worked for SKF Bearing in Bremen for 29 years. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary of Bremen.

Marjorie is survived by a son: Craig L. (Ann) Roeder, Mishawaka; a daughter: Kay (Keith) Bailey, Bristol; five grandchildren: Tami (John) Douglas; Steve (Annabell) Roeder; Todd (Rosalie) Roeder; Jason (Nicole) Bailey; Amanda (Brian) Jamison; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister: Phyllis (Ken) Walters, Nappanee; and two brothers: Dean (Sally) Guard, Nappanee; and Robert (Pat) Guard, Tavares, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Aletha and Lucille; and two brothers: Wayne and Paul.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at the First United Church of Christ in Bremen. Pastor Thomas Dean will officiate with burial following at the Bremen Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 16, at Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen.

Memorials may be given to the First United Church of Christ or the Alzheimer’s Association.
