Rodney Alan Lyons
Rodney Alan Lyons, 46, of Rochester, passed away at 3:39 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, at Woodlawn Hospital.
On July 9, 1968, Rodney was born in Lynnwood, Wash., to Edward George and Lucille Zuleger Lyons. Growing up he shared his childhood with four sisters and one brother.
Rodney was a professional truck driver and often traveled coast to coast. He had a great sense of humor and was known to be quite the prankster. Watching old movies and westerns, especially staring John Wayne, was a favorite pastime. As an armchair quarterback, he cheered on the “Fighting Irish” of Notre Dame and the “Cheeseheads” of Green Bay. Logan’s Road House was his restaurant of choice, but he also enjoyed meatloaf, pizza, chili and a simple PB&J on toast.
He is survived by his son: Edward George Lyons I, Rochester; his mother: Lucille (Shorty) Cooley, Rochester; four sisters: Diane (Daniel) McClure, Hampden, Maine; Pamela (David) Tape, Iron River, Mich.; Karen (Richard) Pluger, Clintonville, Wis.; Brenda (Kenneth) Higgins, Green Bay, Wis.; a brother: Michael (Kathy) Lyons, Lake Geneva, Wis.; three canine companions: Harley, Cuddles, both German shepherds; and Rocky, a boxer; 15 nieces and nephews: Christopher, Brittany, Mikayla, Robert, Justin, Matthew, Melissa, Paige, Bobbi Jo, Bonnie, William, Whitney, Jeremiah, Megan, Nicholas; and many special friends.
Preceding Rodney in death are his father and grandparents.
Chaplain Jason See will officiate services.
