Blackmon Jr. Picks Up Another Award

BLOOMINGTON – Indiana freshman guard James Blackmon Jr. has picked up his second Freshman of the Week award from the Big Ten Conference.
Blackmon Jr. scored a game-high 18 points in the Hoosiers 69-66 upset win over nationally ranked Ohio State Saturday afternoon.
16 of the freshman’s points came in the second half, including nine points in the final five minutes of the game. He also currently leads Indiana and ranks seventh in the Big Ten in scoring with 16.7 points per game, and is shooting 88.3 percent from the free throw line, which ranks second in the conference.
Michigan State’s Travis Trice was named Player of the Week by the conference.
