Undefeated Glenn Tops Triton
BOURBON – The Triton girls basketball team was in great position at halftime Saturday versus undefeated John Glenn.
The Falcons flew high in the second half though to post a 44-31 win over the hosts in a Northern State Conference contest.
Triton led 12-10 after the opening period before Glenn took a 19-18 halftime lead.
The Falcons outscored Triton 25-13 in the second half, including 10-2 in the pivotal third quarter. Triton shot just 4-17 from the field in the final half, while Glenn was 8-14.
Kylie Mason led Triton with 13 points.
Becca Kennedy had 10 points and Jaela Meister seven rebounds for the Trojans.
Triton shot just 11-37 overall from the field in the loss, including 4-16 on 3-pointers. The hosts were 5-8 from the free throw line.
Loren Vukovits led Glenn with 14 points. Kyanna Stull had 12 and Natalie Shetler 11 for the Falcons.
Glenn shot 15-26 overall from the field and were 3-12 on threes. The Falcons were 11-13 from the line.
Triton drops to 9-5 overall and 2-1 in the NSC. Glenn improves to 14-0 overall and 4-0 in league action.
Triton plays at New Prairie in another NSC game Tuesday. Glenn plays at Oregon-Davis Tuesday.
