The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a winter weather advisory for snow, sleet and freezing rain from 3 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

The winter weather advisory includes: Noble, DeKalb, Stark, Pulaski, Marshall, Fulton, Kosciusko, Whitley, Allen, Defiance, Henry, Paulding and Putnam counties.

The NWS reports a period of snow, sleet and freezing rain will arrive during the late overnight hours and then transition to freezing rain Saturday morning. Temperatures are forecast to climb above freezing by late Saturday morning, changing the precipitation to all rain.

Light ice accumulations of up to a 10th of an inch is possible.

Roads and surfaces may become slippery, making travel or outdoor activities difficult.

A winter weather advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Motorists should be prepared for slippery road conditions and limited visibility. Caution should be used while driving.
