PERU – The Whitko girls basketball team collected a tournament title in a big way Tuesday night.

The Wildcats whipped Maconaquah 58-25 in the championship game of the Miami County Tournament.

Whitko outscored the Braves 19-6 in the second period to take a 33-14 halftime lead. The Wildcats then outscored Maconaquah 25-11 in the second half to complete the rout.

Aly Reiff tossed in a game-high 24 points to lead coach Brandon Bradley’s team to the title.

Brianna Cumberland had 15 points for the champions.

Both Reiff and Cumberland were named to the all-tournament team.

Whitko, now 7-5, hosts Fairfield on Jan. 6.
