Cindy Adams and Anne Bailey were initiated into Altrusa International of Warsaw at the Club’s Christmas party on Dec. 18, at The Boathouse Restaurant in Winona Lake. Bailey is retired and Adams works at Zimmer. Both bring valuable experiences and talents to the organization.
Altrusa is an international non-profit organization making their local communities better through leadership, partnership and service. Annually, the organization serves over 1 million community service hours.
The local Club has served the Kosciusko County area for over 41 years. It continues to support The Beaman Home, which they founded 30 years ago, by coordinating the annual Bingo event in October each fall during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Members also prepare and serve a meal each month for the children at Bakers Youth Club. Members provide the annual banquet meal for Grace College Mentors for Kids at Jefferson School and have adopted a class at Lincoln School among many other activities in the community.
The club meets at noon the first Thursday of each month at the Warsaw Library and at 5:30 p.m. the third Thursday at Richard’s Restaurant. The meetings are open to anyone who wishes to learn about Altrusa activities and service to the community.
