The investigation into a fatal fire at 11:14 p.m. Friday on East Smith Street, Warsaw, continues according to Warsaw Police Department. (See UPDATE: House Fire On Smith Street)

An autopsy will be performed early nest week and it is believed the identity of the victim will be released late Monday or Tuesday, once positive identification of the victim has been made.

Investigating the fire is the Warsaw/Wayne Fire Territory, Warsaw Police, Kosciusko Squad 70 Fire Investigation Team, Indiana State Fire Marshal’s office and Kosciusko County Coroner’s office.

The origin of the fire is still under investigation. Warsaw Police report additional information regarding the incident will be released as the investigation progresses.
