LIGONIER – West Noble was able to edge past Whitko Thursday night 42-40 in a non-conference high school girls basketball contest.

The hosts led 31-28 entering the final period of play and held on for the win.

Aly Reiff scored 15 points to lead the way for Whitko, which had its three-game winning streak snapped.

Brianna Cumberland finished with 13 points for the Wildcats.

Paige Shearer scored 14 points and Kenzie Cox had 12 to lead the host Chargers, who improve to 7-2 with their sixth straight win.

Whitko hosts conference foe Tippecanoe Valley Saturday night. West Noble plays at Central Noble Saturday night.
