Big Second Half Fuels Triton Win
GOSHEN – The Triton offense really got going in the second half Tuesday night at Bethany Christian.
The Trojans used a 34-15 edge in the final half to rally for a convincing 57-38 win over the host Bruins in high school boys basketball action.
Bethany led 19-8 after the first quarter before the Trojans rallied to tie the game at 23-23 at halftime.
Triton connected on 11-17 shots in the second half, while Bethany shot just 6-17 from the field.
Skyler Reichert led the way for Triton with 18 points.
Jordan Anderson netted 10 points and Austin Sellers nine in a balanced offense for coach Jason Groves’ team. Joey Corder and Grant Johnson each finished with eight points for the winners.
Triton shot 21-37 from the field for the game, including 6-11 from distance. The Trojans were also 9-11 from the free throw line.
Tritn improves to 3-3 and Bethany falls to 2-5.
Triton won the junior varsity contest 46-35. Zac Pitney led the Trojans with 13 points.
Triton hosts conference foe New Prairie Friday night. Bethany Christian hosts its own tournament on Saturday.
