WARSAW – Warsaw’s boys swim team made no bones it was in a class by itself at the Warsaw Tiger Invite Saturday. The girls team wasn’t that bad, either.

The Tiger boys rolled to a title, scoring 763 points to blow away the six-team field that had Muncie Central second at 441 and Penn third at 426 points. The Tiger girls finished fourth at 304 points among the eight teams that had South Bend Riley win the title with 546 points, bettering South Bend Adams’ runner-up 420 points.

Warsaw’s boys won nine of the 11 titles, and were runner-up in the other two events. Jayden Parrett was part of four titles, and broke the only record of the meet in winning the backstroke at 53.89. Parrett also claimed the 200 free (1:47.17) and helped the medley relay to a win at 1:40.23 and 400 free relay to a 3:24.49 winner.

Spencer Davidson won the 50 (22.58) and breaststroke (59.33) and helped the 200 free relay to a title at 1:33.15.

Zach Taylor and Hudson Snyder went one-two in the individual medley, posting 2:06.25 and 2:10.37, respectively. Taylor was part of the medley relay and 400 relay along with a second-place finish at 56.29 in the butterfly. Ethan Cook was first in the 500 (5:12.76), third in the 200 free (1:54.50) and part of the 200 and 400 free relay wins.

Matt Wildman also had a big day, swimming in the medley and 400 free relay wins, taking second in the 100 free (51.92) and third in the breaststroke (1:04.14). Josh Miller was second in the backstroke (56.04), third in the butterfly (56.70) and the second leg of the winning 200 free relay.

Other top three’s for Warsaw included Kaleb Schneidewent second in the 500 (5:26.37) and Josh Cardin third in the 100 free (55.33) while Jacob Lalonde gave Warsaw a fourth-place swim in the 100 free at 55.98.

The Warsaw girls had its 200 free relay team of Erin Sandberg, Lauren Kuhl, Savannah Tayler and Brenna Morgan finish fourth at 1:54.66. Morgan had a great showing in the 50 free, taking second at 25.52 and then coming back to win the title in the 100 free at 56.11, Warsaw’s only title on the girl’s side.

Warsaw’s medley relay team of Laurel Moeller, Kuhl, Sandberg and Morgan took fourth at 2:06.22 and Sandberg was fourth in the butterfly at 1:12.41. Tayler was fifth in the 500 at 6:05.29.

Warsaw’s next conquest will be Thursday when perennial Northern Lakes Conference power Northridge comes calling to the Warsaw Community Pool. Diving begins at 4:45 p.m. and swimming at 6:15 p.m.
