Rita Allen, 45, 66 EMS B6 Lane, Leesburg, ran from police after her vehicle almost hit another vehicle. A police pursuit followed with her being arrested for resisting law enforcement with force or a deadly weapon, her vehicle.

Early Saturday morning, Syracuse Police Officer Joe Denton observed a vehicle turn a corner and almost hit another vehicle head-on. Denton attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver, later identified as Allen, took off at a high rate of speed.

The pursuit continued through Syracuse and then headed north on SR 13 and east on US 6. The chase continued on US 6 until Ligonier Police deployed stop sticks ending the pursuit.

Allen was taken into custody without further incident. She also committed several other traffic violations during the pursuit.

She was booked at 7:01 a.m. Saturday. Her bond has been set at $10,000 surety.
