Whitley County Sheriff’s Department investigated a triple fatality Friday evening on CR 300E and Hartman Road. One-vehicle was involved in the accident at 11:02 p.m.

Perry J. Coffelt, 50, South CR 300E, Columbia City; Eric D. Hoffman, 19, West CR 350S, Columbia City; and Savannah E. Labenz, 19, East Anderson Road, Churubusco, were all pronounced dead at the scene.

A fourth person, Breanna K. Waugh, 19, West CR 600N, Columbia City, was taken to a Fort Wayne Hospital with minor injuries.

According to Whitley County Sheriff’s Department Coffelt was northbound on CR 300E, north of Hartman Road, when his 2008 Ford convertible left the east side of the roadway for an unknown reason.
