COLUMBIA CITY – The 2014-15 season has started out just as planned for the Wawasee boys freshmen squad.

The Warriors picked up win number one Monday night at Columbia City in both team’s season opener. Wawasee may have already carved out a few reliable scorers in the 39-30 victory.

Trevon Coleman led the scoring effort for Wawasee with 19 points. Coleman added another seven rebounds, tied with Dalton Pearish for the team lead.

Jairus Boyer added another six points for Wawasee and Jacob Hand scored five. Head coach Vince Rhodes was very pleased with the outcome for his boys.

“Great start for our guys,” Rhodes stated. “The team played very well tonight.”

Wawasee (1-0) will host West Noble next Monday.
