An unfortunate gust of wind, during the up to 50 mile per hour blasts, on Monday damaged the nativity scene on Pilcher’s lawn in North Webster.

It had just been put up for the town tree lighting Saturday. Only one-year-old, it was purchased by the North Webster-Tippecanoe Township Chamber of Commerce with a generous donation from Terry Davis, Amazing Canvas.

As of Tuesday, four large pieces were damaged beyond repair. To replace them, the cost will be between $800-$900 plus shipping. For those who might like to contribute to the replacement fund for the nativity, checks can be sent to NWTTCC, P.O. Box 19, North Webster, IN 46555. Mark nativity on the check.
