MISHAWAKA – Clay Yeo is the first Bethel College men’s basketball player since Adam Schaper (2004-2005) to score at least 15 points per game in each of his first three career games at Bethel.
Yeo, a former star at Triton High School, is in his first season for the Pilots after playing at Valparaiso University last season.
Yeo’s 56 points scored is second only to Schaper’s 65 through three career games. Additionally, both Schaper and Yeo were transfers from Division I schools (Iowa State/Valparaiso) as well as Indiana All-Stars in high school.
Yeo poured in a game-high 25 points Wednesday night as the No. 10 Pilots posted an 84-51 win at Andrews University. The 6-5 guard hit 8-13 shots in the victory, including 5-6 from 3-point range.
Sophomore Yeo and the Pilots (3-0) play their home opener Friday at 6 p.m. versus Lawrence Tech University in the first night of the Gates Automotive Classic in the Wiekamp Center in Mishawaka.
