Residents in Milford heard a loud explosion at 10:15 p.m. Sunday. It was unknown if it was thunder or an explosion.

The noise was the crash of a vehicle driven by Ricky D. Wilburn, 32, West CR 700N, Rochester, colliding with a grain truck. The truck was driven by James Conley, 46, West Anglin Road, Etna Green.

Milford Police Officer Tim Miller reports Wilburn was northbound on SR 15 in the first curve when his vehicle went left of center. His car struck the rear wheels of the grain trailer. The impact caused not only the front tire of Wilburn’s vehicle to break off, but also one tire on the grain trailer. Several other tires on the grain trailer were damaged.

No one was injured in the accident.

Damage has been estimated up to $10,000.

Miraculously no one was injured when a car struck the rear tandem wheels of a tractor/trailer on SR 15, between Turkey Creek Drive and Waubee Lake Road, Milford, around 10:15 p.m. tonight.

Traffic was re-routed for a short time, at First Street and at Waubee Lake Road, while the debris was cleared.

Milford Police and Milford Fire Department responded with traffic assistance provided by the fire department and Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.
