NLC Honors Girls’ Soccer Standouts
GOSHEN – A Warsaw trio and a Wawasee player highlight the selections to the All-Northern Lakes girls soccer team for the 2014 campaign.
Warsaw senior Clair Snodgrass, along with junior Liz Van Wormer and freshman Brenna Shipley were picked as All-NLC performers this fall.
Wawasee senior Caitlin Clevenger was also honored on the All-NLC squad.
League champion Goshen had juniors Jelitza Palomino, Alyssa Hershberger and Xenia Isaula, along with sophomore Aylissa Trosper and freshman Jill Kissinger tabbed for the team.
Northridge placed senior Sydney Fuller, along with juniors Bailey O’Dell and Ellie Lenhacher and sophomores Jade Thompson and Brey Baltazar on the all-league team.
Concord is represented by juniors Jaq DeShone, Mariah DeFreese and Casey Buchanan.
Elkhart Memorial had junior Alexx Freshour and sophomore Kirstin Huber honored.
The NorthWood duo of senior Rylee Beck and junior Arika Flickinger were All-NLC, while Plymouth seniors Kaydon Fosler and Allie Wright and sophomore Anna Beckman were also honored.
The Warsaw duo of Alex Koontz and Sydney Wiedeman were honorable mention picks to the All-NLC team. Wawasee’s Sarah Lancaster was also tabbed as an honorable mention choice.
Other honorable mention selections were Catherine Loera, Jessica Oyer and Joleen Miller of Goshen, Brennah Tadeo and Hayley Cunningham of Northridge, Hope Canaan of Memorial, Mackenzie Hesselbart of Concord, Amanda Heckaman of NorthWood and Kara Morwood of Plymouth.
Dan Graber of Goshen was honored as the NLC Coach of the Year.
Goshen won the NLC title at 6-0-1. Northridge was second at 6-1-0, followed by Warsaw (5-2), Concord (4-3), Plymouth (2-3-2), Memorial (2-4-1), NorthWood (1-6) and Wawasee (0-7).
