GARRETT – The Whitko volleyball team closed out regular-season play with a win Tuesday night.

The Wildcats got big performances from several players in defeating host Garrett 25-23, 25-19, 23-25, 25-20.

Maddie Gawthrop led the way for the winners with 11 kills and two blocks.

Kaitlyn Reed had 12 kills and 30 digs for Whitko. Tressa Keim had 10 kills and three aces.

Senior setter Elaine Warner turned in an outstanding effort with 39 assists to go with 24 digs.

Whitko won the junior varsity match 25-16, 25-19.

Whitko will face Fairfield on Tuesday in the opener of the Class 3-A Fairfield Sectional.
