North Webster Library News And Events

Here are some of the upcoming events at North Webster Community Public Library.
Hello Kitty Reading Day
The popular icon Hello Kitty turns 40 years old this month, and the library is celebrating with a special Hello Kitty Reading Day Friday, Oct. 24.
The all-day event includes Hello Kitty coloring and activity sheets, cookie decorating, and giveaways including nail decals, temporary tattoos, and bookmarks.
Kids can stop in the Youth Services Department any time throughout the day to have fun celebrating Hello Kitty with us.

Family Movie Time is at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23. Showing is a G-rated animated film about a misfit mouse, an unhappy rat, and bumbling servant girls whose fates are intertwined with the castle’s princess as they become unlikely heroes.

Adult Department
The Adult Department starts off the week with Writer’s Corner at 10:00 a.m. Monday, Oct. 20, where participants will share their essays about the county fair.
Writer’s Corner is for people who like to write or want to learn how. We encourage each other in learning how to express ideas in writing without negative critiquing of grammar or spelling.
If interested, join us on Monday to share your writings or just listen and check us out.
Read Eat and Discuss Book Club
R.E.A.D. Book Club meets at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, to discuss “Saturday” by Ian McEwan.
Joining a book club is a great way to discover new books and authors, share with others, and make new friends.
Stop by the library, pick up a copy of the book, and join us October 20. Next month, R.E.A.D. Book Club will be reading and discussing “Cutting for Stone” by Abraham Verghese.
E-Books
Did you know you can borrow electronic books from the library and download them onto your e-reader or tablet?
It’s free; it’s easy; and you can do it right from home using your library card.
Just log onto the library’s website at www.nweb.lib.in.us, click on the eIndiana Digital Consortium link on the right side of the home page and follow the prompts. Up to five titles can be downloaded at a time and can be borrowed for two weeks.
If you need help, the library staff will be glad to assist you in downloading e-books.
