DENVER – Some late maneuvering was the medicine North Miami needed to separate from Tippecanoe Valley in a 41-22 final score Friday night in high school football.
The Warriors scored 15 points in the fourth quarter to break open what was a four-point ballgame heading into the final quarter of play.
Tippecanoe Valley managed just 12 first downs in the game and had just 196 total yards in the game. Garrett Bell had a good bulk of those yards, rushing for 77 yards and a touchdown. Jarred Littlejohn added 43 yards receiving and a score and Alec Craig gave Valley its third touchdown with a kick-off return. Craig had 160 yards of return yardage and threw for 86 yards on the night, completing seven-of-14 passes.
Tippecanoe Valley fell to 1-7 overall and 1-5 in the Three Rivers Conference with the loss. North Miami earned its first win of the season.
Valley will host Whitko (5-3) Friday night in the final game of the regular season.
