Warsaw Sports LogoSYRACUSE – The Warsaw freshman football team piled up big offensive numbers Thursday night in a win over Wawasee.

The frosh Tigers had 452 yards of offense in posting a 44-7 win over their Northern Lakes Conference rivals.

Warsaw, which rushed for 296 yards in the victory, got three touchdowns from Will McGarvey to lead the way.

Jake Tucker had a pair of touchdown receptions from Luke Delp for the Tigers. Leytan Perry also had a touchdown for Warsaw and Trevor York caught two receptions for two-point conversions from Delp.

The trio of Daniel Deanties, Michael Gordon and Kendall Miller each had five tackles to lead the Warsaw defense. Miller also had an interception and a fumble recovery.

Wawasee had Zak Linnemeier score its only touchdown from 15 yards out. The Wawasee defense did force four Warsaw fumbles despite the lopsided scoreline.

Warsaw, now 6-1 overall and 4-1 in the NLC, plays at NorthWood next Thursday at 5:30 p.m. Wawasee (2-5, 0-5) will play at Memorial next Thursday.
