Kosciusko Youth Leadership Academy held its Oct. 1 meeting at the Warsaw Police Station.

Guest speaker Brad Jackson, Kosciusko County Commissioner, started the meeting by discussing county government and its role in decision making regarding local issues.

KYLA moderator Tony Ciriello lead the remainder of the session with an interactive discussion about state and local governments, elected official term limits and the process for laws to change. He talked about specific current legislation including new department of corrections laws and business property tax. He concluded the session with a presentation about leadership qualities and their successes and failures.

The next meeting will be Nov. 5 at Chore-Time Brock, Milford.
