UPDATE: Accident Winona and Hand
UPDATE: At approximately 12:34 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5, Geneva B. Spencer, 87, Linden Drive, Bloomington, was eastbound on Winona Ave., waiting to turn left on to Hand Ave. Spencer stated she saw no cars and proceeded with the turn.
Spencer pulled into the path of a vehicle driven by Dale R. Riley, 53 North Zimmer Road, Warsaw, and the two vehicles collided head-on.
Spencer suffered multiple lacerations to both forearms, treated by EMS at the scene and taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Riley complained of back pain, refused medical treatment said would see his personal doctor.
Tammy RIley, 50, North Zimmer Road, Warsaw, a passenger in Riley’s vehicle, complained of chest, abdominal and leg pain. James W. Ratliff II, 23, North 26th St., Lafayette, complained of pain to the neck, back, shoulder and left shin. Both were taken to KCH.
INITIAL REPORT: Warsaw Fire Department, Warsaw Police Department and Multi-Township EMS responded to a two-vehicle accident at approximately 12:40 p.m. today at Winona and Hand avenues.
According to emergency personnel at the scene three persons were transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital.
The intersection, closed until crews could clear the debris, is now open.
