Oct. 4 is going to be a busy day in the Village at Winona Lake. After the Fall Festival, those in the mood for beer, brats and live music should venture down to the Garden at Cerulean for the annual Oktoberfest.

Before the music starts, patrons can burn and earn a few calories at 10K Hash Fat+Flat. Participants can run, walk or bike a 5K loop through the Village, passing by the Garden each time for a free beer. An entry fee of $20 gets participants a MudLOVE bracelet, a food ticket and a beer ticket.

Walkers, runners and bikers can make the loop as many times as they like. Registration begins at 4 p.m., the race starts at 4:30 p.m. At 5:30 p.m. there will be a finish line party.

At 7:30 p.m., a stellar lineup of bands will begin performing in the Garden. Kicking off the concert is local act Plaxton and the Void, followed by Fort Wayne stalwarts Pouncer and James and the Drifters.

Plaxton and the Void and James and the Drifters were recently ranked finalists in the Wooden Nickel/Whatzup Battle of the Bands in Fort Wayne. Pouncer and J&tD were also featured at this year’s Pinestock, an annual music festival in Churubusco.

A cover of $5 grants patrons entrance to the Garden for the concert and includes a MudLOVE bracelet. Craft beer and bratwurst will be available. If the weather is not ideal tents and heaters will be set up in the Garden. Net proceeds benefit KCV, Ride Walk Warsaw and Winona Lake Trail System.
