Vikings Earn First Victory
WABASH – It had to be one happy bus ride home Friday night for the Tippecanoe Valley football team.
The Vikings were able to finally celebrate a victory.
Valley broke into the win column Friday night with a 31-20 Three Rivers Conference win at Wabash.
The Vikings had started the season 0-5 for the first time in the rich history of the program.
Valley led just 16-14 at halftime on the Apaches, before taking control with a 15-point third quarter.
Garrett Bell had a huge game for the Vikings with 34 carries for 160 yards. Bell tallied three touchdown runs for the winners.
Quarterback Alec Craig ran for a touchdown and hit on 7-12 passes for 48 yards for Valley.
Wabash, which snapped a 31-game losing streak two weeks ago, falls to 1-5 overall and 1-3 in the TRC.
Valley, which beat Wabash 62-20 last season, improves to 1-5 overall and 1-3 in the TRC as well.
Valley will host rival and TRC foe Rochester next Friday night. The Zebras improved to 4-0 in league play by blanking Manchester 27-0 Friday night.
