Triton Sports Wrap – Sept. 23
Jaela Meister had a strong all-around performance Tuesday night to help Triton to a conference volleyball win over LaVille.
Meister powered down nine kills as the host Trojans topped the Lancers 25-15, 25-15, 21 in Northern State Conference action in Bourbon.
Meister also had eight digs and a pair of aces in the win.
Lauren Hostrawser had eight kills and three blocks for the Trojans. Becca Kennedy had seven kills, while Quinn Downing had nine digs and Krystal Sellers racked up 25 assists for the winners.
Triton won the junior varsity match 25-11, 25-11. Brooklyn Beatty led the Trojans with six kills, five aces and three digs.
Tennis Team Falls To Falcons
The Triton tennis team came up on the short end of a 3-2 conference loss at John Glenn.
The Trojans got wins from Jared Fisher (6-4, 6-4) at No. 1 singles and Mace Eads (6-4, 2-6, 6-3) at No. 3 singles in the Northern State Conference match in Walkerton.
Dropping straight set decisions for Triton were Gavin Eads at No. 2 singles (6-4, 6-4), the pair of Austin Sellers and Alex Eib at No. 1 doubles (6-1, 6-3) and Ben Waggoner and Spencer Glingle at No. 2 doubles (6-2, 6-0).
Triton drops to 7-7 overall and 1-5 in the NSC. Glenn improves to 7-4 and 3-3.
The junior varsity match ended in a 2-2 tie.
