Trojan Tennis Team Blanks Marian

Triton Sports LogoMISHAWAKA – A strong singles effort carried Triton past Mishawaka Marian 5-0 in prep boys tennis action Monday night at Marian.

The Trojans posted convincing straight set wins on all three singles courts to blank the Knights.

Senior Jared Fisher won 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1 singles for Triton.

The Trojans also got straight set wins from Gavin Eads (6-2, 6-3) at No. 2 and from Mace Eads (6-2, 6-3) at No. 3.

The Trojans completed the shutout with a pair of three-set wins at both doubles positions.

The Triton No. 1 duo of Alex Eib and Austin Sellers won 7-6, 4-6, 10-5. The No. 2 doubles team of Spencer Glingle and Ben Waggoner posted a 6-4,  6-7, 10-1 win.

The Trojans improve to 7-6 on the season, while Marian falls to 5-5.

Marian won the junior varsity competition by a 5-2 count.

Triton plays at conference foe John Glenn on Tuesday evening.
