SOUTH BEND – Jon Schram highlighted a solid tournament for the Grace College men’s golf team at the Bethel Invitational.

Sophomore Schram won the overall individual title in a playoff, getting a par on the first hole to win the three-way tie. He shot 72 in the opening round and followed that up with a 75 in the final round for a two-day total of 147 to qualify for the playoff.

Schram, a former standout and all-state performer at WCHS, played his first collegiate season at Ball State University before transferring to Grace.

As a team, the Lancers put themselves into contention with a solid first round score of 303 which was four shots off the team lead. Grace faded slightly in the second round with a team score of 313 at Blackthorn Golf Club to finish sixth out of 15 squads.

Freshman Brayden Glaser recorded a strong showing, shooting 73-78-151 to place 14th in the field. Sophomore transfer Taylor Ham (77-82), Taylor Fanning (81-88), and Zachary Allyn (92-78) rounded out the team scoring.

Daniel Zawlocki competed as an individual and carded 84-90 over the two days.
