GARRETT – The Tippecanoe Valley volleyball team had a strong effort Saturday to take third place in the Garrett Invitational.

The Vikings went 2-1 in the tourney with wins over Fremont and Whitko and a loss to Eastside.

Valley defeated Fremont 25-8, 25-13. Caylie Teel led the winners with eight kills and five aces. Abby Betten had seven kills and Jaden Biddle five digs.

The Vikings topped conference foe Whitko 25-16, 25-21. Senior star Teel had 10 kills to go with four digs and five blocks for coach Mallory Eaton’s team. Betten had four kills and Biddle five digs in the win.

Eastside topped the Vikings 25-20, 25-21. Teel powered down 14 kills, while Biddle had eight digs and Tenaya Shull had two aces.

Valley will play at North Miami Tuesday night.
