WARSAW – The Warsaw boys tennis team came up just short in a tough 3-2 loss to Goshen Tuesday night.

The Redskins collected a three-set win at No. 1 doubles to earn the final and deciding point in the Northern Lakes Conference match.

The Goshen duo of Logan Troyer and Zach Troyer topped Christopher Herendeen and Justin Stout 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 at the top doubles position for the win.

Sam Rice and Nic Jansen each rolled to dominating singles wins for lead the way for Warsaw.

Rice posted a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles and Jansen earned a 6-0, 6-3 victory at No. 2 singles for the Tigers.

Luke Rush of Goshen topped Andrew Gauger 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3 singles. The Goshen No. 2 doubles team of Peter Vukovich and Zach Ganger bested Caleb Ray and Cole Baker 6-2, 6-2.

Warsaw sees its varsity record go to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the NLC. Goshen improves to 10-0 overall and sits at 1-0 in conference play.

The Tigers play at Culver Academies Wednesday and then host NLC foe Plymouth on Thursday.

The Warsaw JV team topped Goshen 9-3. David Homme and Kyler Bartol won in singles play for the JV Tigers. Winning in JV doubles action for Warsaw were the teams of Hayden Steger and Keeton Bartol, Drew McCollom and Wesley Shuler, Graham Ousley and Quinnent Wright, Brandon Chan and Bryce Pequignot,  Jacob Grimm and Nick Marsh, Eric Baumgartner and Jared Barker and Ethan Hoff and Tanner Lockridge.
