NEW HAVEN – There was nothing unlucky about the number seven Saturday for Alexis Manwaring.
The Warsaw senior fired a fine round of 85 to place seventh among 86 varsity golfers in the New Haven Invitational.
The Tigers got strong play from its’ entire team in earning a fourth-place team finish with a score of 373 in the 18-team field at the Whispering Creek Golf Course.
Kristen Watson and Madi Graham each shot personal best rounds for coach Ray Davis’ squad in the event. Watson finished with a 94 and Graham came in with a 96.
Ash Jain finished with a 98 and Page Desenberg carded a season-best total of 99 for the Tigers.
Leo won the team title with a 350. East Noble was runner-up with a 363 with Carroll third at 366.
Sydney Willis of South Adams earned individual medalist honors with a 77.
Morgen Fuentes of Warsaw placed third out of 34 players in the JV division with a round of 102.
Warsaw, which is 6-2 on the season, opens Northern Lakes Conference play versus Elkhart Memorial Tuesday at South Shore in Syracuse at 5 p.m.
