Hope Fancil is having a very busy and very successful summer on the hardwood.

Fancil, who will be an incoming freshman at WCHS this fall, is a member of the Skylar Diggins Elite 8th grade basketball team based out of South Bend.

The team recently went 4-0 to win the “Peach State Summer Classic” tournament held in Marietta, Georgia. The Diggins Elite squad defeated teams from Tennessee, North Carolina and Georgia to claim the championship, including posting a 59-29 win in the title game.

The Diggins team, which is made up primarily of players from South Bend, is currently playing in a tournament in Tennessee.
