UPDATE: Body Discovered Near Plymouth

Autopsy results of the body discovered in the Yellow River in Marshall County near Plymouth have returned to police, however, the identity of the man has yet to be released.

According to the Plymouth Police Department, at 5:10 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, police were notified of a body floating in the Yellow River. According to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, the body was discovered by a group of individuals canoeing on the river. The deceased, white male was located by Plymouth Police Department and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.

An autopsy completed this afternoon revealed that the white male died of accidental drowning. Forensic identification was not determined at the time of the autopsy.

Plymouth Police Department noted that at 1:20 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, police received a report of a missing white, 61-year-old male. The reporter indicated that the missing person was last seen at approximately noon on Monday, June 16. Officers state that due to this ongoing investigation the name of this missing person will not be released at this time.

Indiana Conservation Officers, Plymouth Fire Department, Plymouth Police Department and the Marshall County Coroner were able to remove the body all assisted at the scene.
