FRANKLIN – The NorthWood boys golf team repeated its performance Wednesday at the State Finals.

The Panthers posted a team score of 318 for the second straight day to finish in 10th place in the finale of the high school season at The Legends Golf Club.

NorthWood, making its first-ever appearance at the State Finals after winning the Warsaw Regional title last week at Stonehenge, shot 636 to take 10th place in the final team standings of the 15-team field.

Junior Alec Dutkowski shot a four-over round of 76 Wednesday to finish at 150 for the two rounds to pace the Panthers. Dutkowski, who finished in a tie for 17th place in the individual standings, had three birdies and eight pars in his final round. The highlight of the day for Dutkowski came as he recorded an eagle three on the par five No. 10 hole.

Senior Logan Kauffman shot 80 in his final round to finish at 154 for coach Brad Duerksen’s team. Senior Brayden Glaser shot 75 and finished at 159. Junior Matt Ely fired an 87 to conclude at 173 and sophomore Hayden Klotz shot 94 to wrap up at 184 for the Panthers.

No. 2 Columbus North shot 292 on Wednesday to finish at 591 to claim the program’s second state championship. Defending champion Westfield was second at 602. No. 1 Hamilton Southeastern finished in third place with a two-day total of 603, while Carmel and Pendleton Heights tied for fourth place at 604.

Mishawaka Marian senior Michael Makris fired the top round of the day Wednesday, shooting a 68 to finish in fourth place in the final individual standings at 143. Makris had 14 pars and four birdies in his outstanding round Wednesday.

Columbus North seniors Michael VanDeventer and Christian Fairbanks tied for medalist honors with two-round totals of 141 for the champions.
