Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accident:
Tuesday, June 10, 11 a.m. North 500 East and East 1000 North, Syracuse. Driver: Jordan A. Beer, 17, South Blaine Street, North Webster. Beer said a spider came down from the headliner of the vehicle and scared her. She swerved and west off the east side of the road, striking a rock and driving through the yard of the Boy Scout cabin. Damages: up to $5,000
Warsaw Police Department
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Wednesday, June 11, 9:56 a.m. East Smith and Segal streets. Drivers: Holly M. Hummitch, 34, Marion Avenue, Warsaw; and Jody E. Sakiri, 35, Heston Road, Jacksonville, Fla. Sakiri stopped suddenly in the road for a dog and was rear-ended by Hummitch. Hummitch complained of chest pain. Sakiri complained of neck pain. Damages: up to $25,000
Tuesday, June 10, 7:21 p.m. North Detroit Street and Plaza Drive. Drivers: Sinamarie N. Hatcher, 23, North 250 East, Warsaw; and Samantha S. Shell, 22, East Center Street, Warsaw. Hatcher was northbound on Detroit Street attempting a left turn from the center turn lane but, due to other vehicles in front of her, was unable to see a southbound vehicle, driven by Shell, and pulled into her path. Damages: up to $5,000
Tuesday, June 10, 5:36 p.m. West U.S. 30 and CR 150 West (Silveus Crossing). Drivers: Brandon L. Ditton, 17, South 600 West, Claypool; and Debbie Bollhorst-Dallas, 51, Kenwood Street, Hammond. Ditton was northbound on CR 150 West and entered the intersection on a red light and collided with an eastbound vehicle driven by Bollhorst-Dallas. Ditton was uninjured. Bollhorst-Dallas complained of chest pain and was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment. Damages: up to $10,000
Tuesday, June 10, 4:06 p.m. Argonne Road and East Hendricks Street. Drivers: Regina Acuahutl, 47, South McKinley Street, Warsaw; and Pine Angelita, 60, Elm Street, Monroe, Conn. Acuahutl was backing from a parking space at Our Father’s House and collided with a vehicle that was pulling into a parking space. Acuahutl was cited for failure to provide financial responsibility and for driving while suspended. Damages: up to $5,000
Tuesday, June 10, 2:32 p.m. Lake City Highway and South 250 East. Drivers: Amy Y. Williamson, 48, North Hickory Court, Warsaw; and Patricia A. Yoder, 85, North Orchard Drive, Warsaw. Williamson was northbound on 250 East and entered the intersection on a green light when her vehicle was struck by Yoder, who was attempting a left hand turn on a red light. Yoder appeared to be confused and disoriented following the accident. Both drivers were taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment. Damages: up to $10,000
Tuesday, June 10, 8:12 a.m. U.S. 30 and Circle Drive. Drivers: Freddie L. Price, 60, Richfield Court, Fort Wayne; and Jacqualyn S. Shaffer, 61, Fruit Street, Huntington. Price was westbound on U.S. 30 in the left lane and failed to notice traffic was stopped in front of him, causing him to rear end Shaffer’s vehicle. Damages: up to $5,000
