School may just be ending, but it’s not too early to be thinking about the new immunization requirements for the 2014-2015 school year.

Indiana State Department of Health is requiring all high school seniors to be vaccinated with a second dose of meningitis. Sixth graders will be required to get their first dose of meningitis and also a Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis) booster.

Kosciusko County Health Department’s Immunization Clinic can vaccinate students who have Medicaid coverage, are uninsured, or are “underinsured” (their private health insurance does not cover the cost of vaccinations). KCHD has a walk-in clinic from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The first Monday of each month also has an evening clinic from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

For information, call the health department at 574-267-7028.
