Recently first graders from Harrison Elementary School visited Martin’s Supermarket to learn about the nutritional value of various fruits and vegetables and the services that the store provides to the community. While there, they also discovered more about Martin’s environmental and recycling programs.
Students brought their own money along on the trip so they could use their role as consumers to purchase items for donation to the WCS Boomerang Backpack Program. The Boomerang Backpack Program helps provide nutritious snacks for students each weekend when school meals are not available. The Harrison Elementary first grade students were thrilled to have the opportunity to enrich the lives of the students in the four WCS elementary schools the program currently serves.
