Child Removed From Meth Cooking Operation

Manufacturing methamphetamine in his North Webster apartment with a young child present has landed a man in jail.

At around 7 a.m. this morning, Warsaw Police Narcotics officers arrested Steven Lynn Iden II, 34, after he was found cooking meth his 9-year-old child in the apartment.

According to a press release, Iden sold meth to an undercover officer. That was when it was learned Iden was allegedly cooking the drug in his apartment at 560 S. Main St., North Webster.

Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana State Police, and Warsaw Police responded and, upon entering the upstairs to the building, the strong odor of chemicals and a chemical haze was present. Officers entered the apartment and found Iden trying to dispose of the meth manufacturing products.

The North Webster Fire Department was called to the scene, along with Kosciusko County Child Protective Services. The child was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital to be examined for chemical exposure and then taken into protective custody by CPS.

The Indiana State Police and Warsaw Police clandestine lab teams were called to the apartment to clean up the scene. Iden was transported to the Kosciusko County Jail and booked in on a B felony charge of dealing / delivering / manufacturing methamphetamine. Additional charges may be forthcoming.

His bond was set at $10,000 surety.
