ABC Closing Nappanee Plant

ABC Companies in Nappanee is closing operations this year; a move that will put as many as 160 people out of jobs.

The company alerted Indiana Workforce Development about the plan, which calls for all operations to cease by Sept. 15. ABC Companies, based out of Minnesota, operates a bus refurbishing plant in Nappanee.

None of the company employees are represented by a union and the company says bumping rights to not exist for any of the employees. The closing of the local plant is permanent.

The state notified Nappanee Mayor Larry Thompson of the company’s intent with a letter pursuant to the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act.
