Concord Netters Tip Tigers

images-7DUNLAP – The tough times in conference play continued for the Warsaw girls tennis team Wednesday.

Host Concord edged the Tigers by a 3-2 final in Northern Lakes Conference play.

Senior Sarah Boyle led the way for the Tigers with a 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles.

The other point for Warsaw came at No. 2 doubles as the team of Abbi Baum and Athena Schlitt posted a 7-6 (7-2), 6-2 win.

Senior Jacqueline Sasso lost 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles for the Tigers. Rachel Alexander dropped a 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 match at No. 3 singles.

The duo of Camille Kerlin and Anna Hall lost 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles for the Tigers.

Warsaw is now 4-7 overall and 1-5 in the NLC.  Concord improves to 5-6 overall and 3-4 in the NLC.

Warsaw won the junior varsity action by an 8-2 count. Winning for the JV Tigers in singles play were Mattie Doran, Sydney Hartman, Danielle Straits, Sydney Peugh and Maddie Mutchler.

The JV Tigers also got wins from its doubles teams of Jenn Katris and Bonnie Wong, Brooklyn Rummer and Abby Smith and Amanda Hermann and Courtney Thompson.

Warsaw will host Culver Academy on Thursday.
